Creating Safe Spaces is the online training and compliance platform serving Baptist Churches across NSW and ACT, delivering Safe Ministry training and the Safe Church Health Check (SCHC) assessment system.
My work on this project focused on backend development, system architecture, and platform integrations — I did not design the website. The core achievement was designing and building the Safe Church Health Check section from scratch, creating a complex compliance assessment system used by dozens of churches across the region.
Safe Church Health Check System
Designed and built the Safe Church Health Check section from the ground up, establishing the system structure and user workflows. The compliance assessment engine handles complex conditional logic for denominational requirements, allowing churches to self-assess their safe ministry practices against state-wide standards.
Custom Forms Platform Engineering
Customised a forms platform into a bespoke application to handle the conditional logic required for denominational compliance across multiple church contexts. The platform adapts its question flow dynamically based on church size, ministry type, and previous assessment responses.
Learning Management System Integration
Led the technical research and deployment of a Learning Management System to deliver state-wide Safe Ministry training across NSW and ACT. The LMS handles user enrolment, course completion tracking, and certification management for dozens of churches.
Multi-Language Management
Managed the technical integration of independent Chinese and Korean translations into the online training platform, resolving complex integration conflicts with the LMS to support multilingual training delivery alongside the primary English platform.
Site Reliability & Maintenance
Implemented automated off-site backup protocols and managed the update lifecycle to ensure 24/7 system stability. The architecture is designed to scale across churches in NSW and ACT with proactive monitoring and maintenance schedules.
